Job Description

Are you a qualified Training Manager within the Logistics industry? A fantastic opportuntiy has arisen to work on a permanent contract for a large UK based transport company.

They are looking for a driver training manager to join their team in Newport to ensure driver safety through training and development to assist in meeting their business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Annual driving assessments
  • Post-accident driving assessments - vehicle damage control
  • Tacho infringement management
  • Tacho infringement training
  • Tacho management
  • DCPC training
  • Maintenance of training matrix
  • New driver inductions
  • Driving Licence checks
  • Tug assessments
  • Maintenance of driver training files
  • Deliver monthly toolbox talks on H&S topics and driving topics
  • Deliver training at other sites as and when required
  • Pre vehicle check audits
  • Tacho v Timesheet audits
  • Training of risk assessments
  • Analysis and reporting of fuel efficiencies
  • Identifying training needs from fuel efficiency analysis
  • Annual review and training of risk assessments and work instructions

About you:

Essential-

  • Experience within the transport logistics sector
  • Knowledge of working in a transport office
  • Ensuring all Legal, Health and Safety legislation and Operational procedures are adhered to at all times and to work within Health and Safety guidelines at all times ensuring the safety of self and others
  • Previous demonstrable experience of Driver Assessing
  • Management of WTD and Drivers hours including leading on the feedback of Infringement Analysis.
  • Management of Economic, Fuel Efficient Driving techniques and training. Experience of coaching, mentoring and developing drivers
  • Comprehensive knowledge of transport compliance legislation
  • Delivery of tool box talks on designated safety, compliance or driving hot topics. Knowledge regarding relevant transport legal requirement
  • Good IT skills: MS Office
  • English, both oral and written
  • The ability to design, present and deliver impactful training and training materials
  • Ability to make decisions
  • Ability to direct and instruct staff

Desirable-

  • PTLLS qualification or CIPD L&D qualification
  • Transport Manager CPC
  • Qualified First Aid trainer
  • Fleet telematics knowledge
  • Delivery of Driver CPC training
  • Extensive experience of driving large goods vehicles and a knowledge of all types of commercial vehicles and trailers
