Accountant (12 months)

Accountant (12-month Maternity Cover)
Location: Cardiff Bay
Type: Contract, 12 months
Salary: £34,000- £38,000
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 - 4:30 *No weekends*

My client is Wales's leading provider of temperature controlled warehousing and distribution services. Their strong position in Wales has allowed them to expand into England and they have continued their consistent growth despite the pandemic with a cold store network spanning across South Wales and England.

Duties (Not limited to):
Preparation of monthly Management Accounts and MI, including cost and overhead analysis
Update and review of Cash flow forecast
Balance sheet reconciliation and control
Financial Accounting (including prepayments, accruals etc.)
Management of Invoice Factoring reconciliations
Cash Book management
Prepare and submit VAT Returns and provide information on payroll/tax returns (i.e. P11D) to external advisors
Maintain and review ledgers for accuracy
Raise Payroll/PAYE payments
Bank/Credit Card Reconciliations
Provide information for external audits
Provide cover for other team members and ad-hoc tasks as required

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Qualified, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
Accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent Excel skills
Experience of Xero or other accounting software
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
Resilience and able to rise to a challenge
