Class 2 Driver / Loader

Role: Driver/Loader Waste Management (class 2)
Location: Cardiff
Rate: £10.97 with uplift on unsociable hours
Hours: Mainly 2pm-10pm but may be required to work 6am - 2pm
Term: Ongoing

The successful candidate will need to provide references for the last two years.

Job Summary

To drive a heavy goods vehicle or work as a loader normally undertaking domestic waste collection, trade waste collection or recycling and follow the organisation's procedures on the delivery of loads.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team on a rounds-based operation.

You will undertake routine maintenance of the vehicle and take reasonable care at all times for the safety and welfare of yourself and other persons.

Overtime work may be necessary, including working catch up Saturday/Sunday following a bank holiday.

Profile

· Able to safely drive and operate a refuse vehicle

· Aware of safe working practices

· Able to give and take verbal instruction, working with supervision within a small team

· Physically able to collect wheeled bins, sacks, commercial waste bins, and recycling boxes

· Making appropriate use of the mechanical bin lifts where applicable

Gloves
Ballistic trousers
Wet gear

Candidates will have to pass a driving assessment

Full UK LGV Class II driving licence (essential)
Digi Tacho Card (essential)
CPC (essential)
Manual Handling (Welsh Passport A&B) provided if needed.

The following training will be carried out by our client:

Tacho training on their systems

Vehicle Familiarisation
Workplace induction
