Electrical Craftsman
£31,707 + great benefits
Location: Port Talbot, or Newport, or Llanelli
Permanent contract, Monday- Friday (days)

One of our most high-profile clients, a major South Wales employer within the heavy manufacturing industry is now seeking an Electrical Craft Team Member to join their team due to business growth. As an Electrical Craft Team Member, you will perform preventative maintenance and inspection work, provide expertise and resource to identify and rectify faults in complex systems to ensure manufacturing continuity and identify opportunities for improvement.


Your main duties as an Electrical Craftsman
-Diagnosing and correcting complex faults in the manufacturing process equipment.
-Developing expertise and keeping up to date in maintenance techniques and equipment development (self-study/attending courses)
-Providing comprehensive reports on breakdowns, repairs and related engineering activities and recommending improvements
-Providing training for other team members when required
-Supervising personnel and where necessary issue certificates of isolation as part of the safe system of work.
-Using your experience of modern day electrical systems including PLC's, Drives, AC & DC motor circuitry and be able to read and interpret electrical wiring and schematic drawings to full advantage


Who are we looking for in you?
- a qualification to HNC level (obtained through a craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering or hold a Modern Apprenticeship certificate)
- experience of relevant plant experience in electrical systems
- leadership skills when supervising personnel during execution of engineering repair work
- excellent communication skills and computer literacy
