Extrusion Operator
Np12 area
£30,000 Per annum
Â
Week 1: Â Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday
Week 2: Â Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
12 hour shifts
Â
Overview:
Proficiently operate extruder machinery in a safe manner necessary to manufacture quality hot and cold lids within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Â Responsible for setting the machine up, selecting dies, performing maintenance, and troubleshooting problems.

Duties:
Adjust, calibrate and test equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure correct pressure, speed, temperature and general operation.
Examine visually, weigh and measure components created from equipment at the end of the week to ensure machines are producing according to company and industry regulations and standards, making adjustments as needed.
Work with team members, shift supervisors and all necessary personnel to take care of complications as they arise.
Communicate with fellow team members to learn of any equipment problems or malfunctions, and take care of them as they arise
Raw material
Use regulated cleaning solutions, grease guns, oil cans, air hoses and cleaning cloths to properly maintain and clean equipment on a bimonthly basis.
Make repairs to equipment when necessary, and replace all defective, broken or worn out components.
Choose and install cutters, moulds and all other necessary equipment parts so machines are always operating at peak efficiency.

Core Skills:
Mechanical and operation skills are at the core of the extrusion operator position.
Successful candidates must be mechanically inclined to understand issues with machines and fix them
Computer skills, dexterity, and critical thinking skills
Ability to read measurements is preferred
Perform simple mathematics, to comprehend and interpret process sheets and recipes, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc and to keep accurate account of materials used during manufacturing process including scrap amounts
Experience of TPM, OEE and 5S principles would be an advantage
Knowledge of current Health & Safety rules and regulations
