Factory Technical Manager


My client based in Pembrokeshire is seeking an experienced and hands on Technical Manager to join their successful business to manage and lead the factory quality assurance team.
The role will have 5 direct reports and so strong man management experience will be key.
You will need to provide coaching & support to your team to take the team to the next level, aswell as problem spotting, problem solving and root cause analysis.
This role is based onsite 5 days per week so would really suit someone who loves being in the factory with the team rather than an office environment.
You will be actively engaged in making the company and their processes better, so you'll need to be enthusiastic and able to communicate new ideas.
Customer liaison also an important aspect, as you'll be responding to complaints or issues in a professional manner.


Other duties will include:
-To manage the factory technical function of the Company in accordance with relevant legislation, food safety, BRC, customer technical requirements and company policies and procedures, maintain and improve standards.
-Lead and develop the Quality Assurance team including recruitment, training, monitoring hours, recording holiday and sickness on Direct Time and allocation of duties.
-Lead investigation and root cause analysis and corrective actions for complaints, rejections and in-process quality incidents
-Oversee day to day running of intake quality ensuring that all the necessary monitoring of raw materials, packaging and product quality are undertaken.
-To proactively manage a team of QA Technicians, dealing with performance management, return to work processes, and all other people management processes.
-Ensures that the Company complies with health and safety legislation and regulations through a programme of regular reviews and risk assessments.
