The role

My client in Brecon is one of the world's most respected and knowledgeable materials handling consultants in the UK and around the world. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager your role will be to perform onsite inspections and site surveys, maintenance repairs, and breakdowns ensuring a gold star service is carried out to each and every customer.

Duties and responsibilities
Provide onsite installation, validation and commissioning for new machines
Perform onsite trouble-shooting service and repairs
Provide high-level technical support to external customers at their location
Provide onsite training for customers
Assemble and test new machines prior to despatch
Ensure tool and equipment are checked before travel to site
Prepare report sheets providing detailed information in a timely manner (within 5 working days of each site visit)
Provide support to the spare parts personnel as required for quoting recommended spare parts and remedial work after each site visit
Communicate well with the customer to ensure they are happy with the job and carry out any corrective actions required
Do not leave site until the customer has positively indicated that they are happy with the job
Use listening and technical skills to identify opportunities for new machine / project sales
Use listening and technical skills to identify opportunities for service, remedial work and spare parts sales
Be active and positive in the company's Non-Conformance and Customer Complaints reviews to help the business improve
Act as a crucial link between the business and the customers / environment and situation onsite

Skills, qualifications and experience required
Mechanical Engineering experience
High level of customer focus
Sound technical knowledge
Ability to communicate at all levels
A good understanding of English grammar and punctuation
Mechanical Engineering qualifications
Materials Handling industry exposure
ISO 9001:2015
