We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a well established engineering firm in Pontypool. This is a great opportunity to be part of a fun, supportive team in an attractive working environment. Not only will you be a key part of the finance team, but you will be the first point of contact for any new visitors and will represent the company professionally over the phone.

As Finance Assistant you will:

- Act as the first point of contact for the Company; welcoming visitors and responding to telephone and email enquiries

- Represent Finance at the morning meetings

- Assist in the calculation of pay, allowances and deductions and input onto Excel, Sage and Lloyds Commercial Banking.

- Ensure that the Purchase Ledger is accurately maintained and process deadlines (payment dates) are met.

- Process purchase ledger invoices.

- Ensure suppliers (trade suppliers, councillors, partners) are paid in accordance with agreed terms and conditions

- Ensure that purchase orders are raised and signed by the appropriate signatories, POs are attached to invoices for payment

- Assist in the accurate and timely manner invoices are raised and fees are collected

- Working with credit control as required to minimise the occurrence of problem debts.

- Maintain Debtors ledger, by inputting details into SAP.
