Health and Safety Manager

The key responsibilities in this role include;

• Be a HSE ambassador, Driving and supporting a Safety-First culture within the area of responsibility.
• Take responsibility for the full scope of HSE and associated audit activities conducting regular reviews.
• Provide guidance and direction to site Management to ensure continued compliance and improvement of HSE standards.
• Ensure compliance with processes and procedures to safeguard up to 200 members within the Logistics and Transport sector.
• Coordinate the HSE monitoring programme to ensure legal and organisational compliance.
• Monitoring health and safety risks and hazards in the workplace.
• Ensuring the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation.
• Working with and training all employees to manage, monitor and improve the health and safety standards in the workplace.
• Being responsible for all safety inspections in the workplace (for example, monitoring noise levels in a warehouse).
• Assisting with the creation and management of health and safety monitoring systems and policies in the workplace.
• Managing emergency procedures (such as fire alarm drills).
• Arrange training.
• Accident and Investigation process.
• Recording accidents and near misses on the accident frequency document.
• Pre-qualification questionnaires for different departments in the company.
• Carry out site audits and inspections.
• DSEQ Assessments
• Method Statements & Risk Assessments
• Facilities Management - Arranging various annual checks of fire alarm panel etc...
• PAT Testing - arranging annual checks.
• New Employee Inductions
• Creation of contracts.
• Disciplinaries
• Safety Bulletins
• Training Matrix management
• COSHH Assessments
• HIAB Spot checks
• Document Quality control management

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience managing an operational H&S role.
• Previous H&S responsibility in a Logistics and Transport environments.
• NEBOSH National General Certificate is essential.
• Knowledge of Road Transport legislation.
• Sound knowledge of environmental legislations
• Stakeholder management and management influence
