Job Description

Vibe's client based in Merthyr Tydfil are looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant for an immediate start.

The post holder will be a high calibre and experienced Management Accountant to assist the finance director with the ongoing management of the accounts.

Reporting To: Finance Director

Supervisory Responsibilities: 1 Book-keeper

Experience & Qualifications:

  • CIMA, ACA, ACCA
  • Experience of producing management accounts
  • Excellent Microsoft Word and Excel skills are essential, as is experience with Sage 50 Accounting software and Sage Payroll
  • 5+ years' experience working as a management accountant
  • 10 GCSES A-C
  • A-levels or equivalent advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities - Specific

  • Annual accounts - prepare working papers
  • Prepare monthly Management accounts
  • Prepare month end journals
  • Review Work for prepayments, accruals and B/S reconciliations
  • Prepare the CT61 forms
  • Pay suppliers and review debtors
  • Post and Review Revenue accruals for Sponsorship, Season Tickets, Multi Ride Cards
  • Banking - including cross checking and reviewing discrepancies
  • Get change/ deposit cash
  • Review cash receipts
  • Set up credit accounts
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Provide HMRC the required information when they request if for an audit.
  • Oversee annual stocktakes
  • Work with staff to provide training and guidance with monthly stocktakes
  • Act as a business partner for all departments
  • Prepare weekly availability reports and sales reports
  • Review monthly payroll
  • Stay up to date on legislative changes
  • Reconcile payroll to Nominal Ledger Postings
  • Pensions, prepare and submit data, making monthly payments into the scheme
  • Ensure compliance with the pensions regulations
  • Manage the transfer of employees into the scheme when they start
  • Register for Auto Enrolment and ensure ongoing compliance

Duties and Responsibilities - General

  • To adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities and to respond positively to new and alternative systems
  • To co-operate with relevant health and safety legislation, policies and procedures in the performance of the duties of the post
  • To carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post in compliance with the Company's equal opportunities policies
  • To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
  • To understand and comply with the Company's environmental policies
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post

Pay Scale:

£30,000 to £40,000 depending on qualifications and experience based on a 40 hour week.
