Job Description

An experienced materials planner, is required for a busy manufacturing company based in Caerphilly.

Monday - Friday 8.15am to 4.45

Salary of up to £25,000 dependant on experience.

Purpose of the role:

Plan, monitor and report on the raw material levels to optimize service levels. Monitor material levels to ensure that goods are moved, handled, and stored safely, correctly, and in accordance with established schedules

Key Responsibilities

Ensure schedules are raised and forwarded to suppliers
Monitoring and reporting supplier delivery performance (Supplier on time delivery)
Support inventory accuracy audits as and when required
Investigate and resolve delivery issues
Liaise with the production planners to calculate volumes of raw materials and packaging required to fulfil the production plans aiming for 100% availability
Progressing of purchase orders with suppliers; notifying the planners of any potential supply issues which could impact on the production plan.
React to any changes in the production plans which may result in reviewing existing purchase orders with suppliers.
Responsible for weekly KPIs and data analysis.
Responsible for investigation of daily variances and stock outs. (updating the system accordingly).
Maintaining stock accuracy through inventory cycle counts (Stock control)
Liaise with the Goods in team to make sure Delivery calendar is well maintained and compliant.
Manage invoice queries with suppliers and within the business in a timely manner.Â
Planning and scheduling material in accordance with the needs of master production schedule
Support order placement for all no stock requirements
Liaise with multiple internal stakeholders including; production, Customer Service, Warehouse, Despatch
Reacting to any changes in customer demand
Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers
In addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities, other activities and duties may be individually defined
Participate in forecasting meetings
Flexible attitude to work additional hours to ensure deadlines are met.


Essentials for the role:
Previous materials planning experience essential
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong verbal reasoning and persuasion skills
Ability to work adapt to any situation and remain calm under pressure
Good IT skills with experience of Microsoft and ERP (SAGE 200) Systems
Ability to work across multiple departments and communicate effectively with Operations, Sales, Technical Service and Customer Service
Knowledge of UDI/Barcoding and other traceability systems
Flexible approach to working conditions and working environment change
Ability to work on own initiative.
