Job Description

Our client, based in Newport, is looking to appoint an Office Administrator on a full time. permanent contract.

The successful candidate will work as part of a small team to provide first-line support for a number of divisions within the business.

Responsibilities include but not limited to -

HR generalist support to designated teams, to include and drive the implementation of health & Safety including policies and people initiatives, coach and upskill people leaders as well as contribute to key business projects.

Responsible for assisting the Health & Safety Manager with the day to day movements.

Advising Managers, Foremen and Employees on current Health & Safety Legislation.

Provide HR guidance to line managers and employees, ensuring all activities are legal and compliant with employment law and company policies and procedures.

Support the implementation of the HR strategy and plan for the business in order to ensure alignment with HR and business strategy, ensuring consistency in all HR practices.

Support, participate or take the lead in HR projects that support the delivery of the HR strategy to maximise workforce performance and engagement.

Support, participate or take the lead in internal and external recruitment campaigns.

Assist with HR matters as needed, including disciplinary and grievance, sickness, and performance management issues ensuring company policy and legislation is followed.

Manage the employee induction and onboarding programme to appropriately welcome new starters into the business.

Essential -

Good communication skills and the ability to use all Microsoft Office packages is essential.

Applicants must be approachable, very 'hands on' and be comfortable in spending time on site.

A calm, assertive and firm attitude is vital with the ability to work under pressure and without direct supervision.

Hours of Work

Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:00

Qualified and experienced candidates can expect to be paid an annual salary of £19,000 - 25,000 per year dependant on experience.
