We are currently recruiting Press Operators for one of our very successful clients based in Cardiff. Main function of the role is to set-up and operate the power press machine, achieve daily targets whilst following quality requirements closely, including continuous improvements like Lean sigma and 5S activities.

Press Operator - Main Duties
-Setting and operating the press machine tool pre-inspection and changeover and keeping accurate and up to date production records
-Reading technical drawings and Quality Inspection including frequent checks and updating the records
-Loading Coils/Blanks
-Working with other internal departments to minimize equipment downtime and production losses and utilize a TPM approach to maximize equipment utilization and performance
-Communicate effectively with section leaders and support staff to ensure production targets are achieved

What are we looking for in you?
-Previous power press setting and operating experience within high-volume manufacturing environment
-Experience of reading technical drawings and using basic measuring devices (verniers/micrometers/ rule)
-Ability to use or pass certification for FLT counterbalance, bendy type, overhead gantry crane & lifting/slinging, power press regulations.
-Computer skills including Microsoft Office Package
-Basic understanding of Lean Principles, 5 S and Quality Right First Time
-Team player with a "can do attitude" and great communication skills
