Procurement Manager
An outstanding opportunity is now available for a procurement professional to join a successful and innovative manufacturer of specialist electro-mechanical, high value equipment.
The Procurement Manager is responsible for all aspects of supplier management, inventory planning & control and purchase strategy
Responsibilities
- Forecasting levels of demands for products & budgeting. Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities - ie; exchange rates, cost of raw material using market evaluation.
- Develop strategies to ensure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met or exceeded
- Undertake value for money reviews of existing supplier contracts and arrangements
- Manage stock levels
- Develop a purchasing strategy to include reducing the overall COGS, looking at buy or build options, using value chain mapping and improving efficiencies
- Capturing manufacturing costs - analysing organisational spend
- Produce supplier reports and statistics on spend by supplier/product
- Improve efficiencies throughout the complete buying process through intelligent sourcing and planning
- Cost reduction -by Troubleshooting cost, quality & delivery concerns
- Work closely with other departments to reduce the overall cost of equipment through purchasing, planning, design & production engineering
- Delivering structured procurement and buying processes to include the issue of TTI,RFI,RFQ and similar
- Monitor ongoing compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, quality standards & external regulations
- Facilitate timely placement of purchase orders
- Work with operations in regards to Non Conformance - supplier related issues
- Standardise where possible, using 'off the shelf items'
- Stock profiles - MRP/ERP
- Fully utilise SAP

Skills required
- CIPS qualification or equivalent in supply chain management or purchasing
- SAP or similar stock control system
- 5 years Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
- Experience of Production scheduling
