Full-time, permanent

Our client's business has seen a 58% growth in the past 12 months. With plans to continue this success, they are looking to appoint a Product Developer who will be based in Wrexham.

As Product Developer you will take ownership of the development of your categories with support of the wider team, in order to ensure the department strategy is fulfilled. You will source suppliers and products whilst maintaining the critical path to ensure on time developments. You will need to work well under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be a confident communicator, able to deal with various departments across the business and senior management.

The role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Ensure that all products undertake the full sourcing and due diligence process, adhering to the processes we have put in place to mitigate risk.
  • Stay up to date with market and competitor trends within your categories, ensuring Net World is always expanding its product line and enhancing its competitiveness.
  • Testing product samples and providing comprehensive feedback suppliers, to ensure we have the best product possible.
  • Ensure that product profit margins are always met and maintained throughout the product lifecycle, liaising with teams both internally and externally (supplier relations) to ensure this is met.
  • Benchmark product against competitors ensuring market leading position and feed into Product development strategy
  • Ensuring customer needs are central to development decision making
  • Liaising with customer services, aiding with customer queries where necessary.
  • Ensure that new product launches are 'on-time' and tracked. Ensuring that the product quality is of the business' standard. Following and maintaining critical paths on a weekly basis. Sticking to product calendar and deadlines as required.
  • Liaise effectively and work closely with purchasing, product design and logistics, keeping clear communication and allowing product development to thrive.
  • Assist with the sourcing of suppliers for the assigned products and work closely with other members of the product team to purchase items in good time for delivery during peak popularity periods.
  • Assist with supplier management, ensuring we are maintaining healthy relationships with all suppliers and stakeholders
  • Challenge pricing to ensure the cost we are getting is fair and consistent by having a clear understand of the costing breakdown. Build knowledge of costing through open discussion with suppliers and manager



Applicants will need to display:

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Visual and spatial awareness.
  • Willingness to build and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers and colleagues
  • Determination to achieve a result.
  • Passion for sports or familiarity with sports products would be highly beneficial.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, however this is not essential as full training will provided.
  • Minimum 1 Years' experience within Product Development, Buying or Purchasing.
