On behalf of our client based in Blackwood we are recruiting for a Production Assistant on a temporary to permanent basis.
The successful candidate will need the following attributes as a minimum
Be competent to Liaise and deal with new and existing team members on a day to day basis by implementing requirements and dealing with issues or changes to specifications. The individual will need the skill set to apply these changes and communicate them in a workable and efficient way to a 24/7 production environment. The candidate may be required to travel off site occasionally so a full clean driving license would be a preference.
The individual must also be competent to be involved in new projects and apply the information from start of the process to rolling out specifications, and processes throughout the business.
The role would also involve the control of works orders, ensuring these are present on each machine at the start of the production run, onto checking they have been fully completed and then entering them onto our system. As well as this, the candidate would be responsible for the control and printing of the production labels to make sure these are ready for the start of each run.
The candidate must have a self-drive mentality to offer continuous improvement options throughout the business and follow these through with the support of the existing team and management. Such examples of these would be improve current processes.
The candidate must have ability to be able to transfer specific information into visual flashcards for production workers to follow easily and efficiently
A good knowledge and understanding of the Bsi 9001:2015 standard is also a preference.
The candidate must be prepared to be hands on in the production environment and also be prepared to aid other departments when short staffed and step up to ensure the business demands are required.
The candidate must have production and manufacturing knowledge and experience in sage accounts / manufacturing system and must have the ability to adapt quickly and be able to prioritise tasks in an environment that is subject to rapid change. The successful candidate will need to be thorough and have a keen eye for detail.
Working hours will be 8am-5pm.
