Quality Supervisor - Food Manufacturing - Banbury - £35,000 - £37,000

Role: Quality Supervisor - Food Manufacturing

Field: Quality Control/Quality Assurance/Food Hygiene & Safety/Food Science/ Food Safety/Food Production/Food Manufacturing

Reporting to: Technical Services Manager

Direct Reports: QA Technician

Working Hours: Monday - Friday (07:00 - 16:00)

Salary: £35,000 - £37,000

Benefits: 31 days holiday (Inclusive of bank holidays), 9% pension

This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Supervisor to join a leading food manufacturing business with scope to learn and develop further as well as the opportunity to make a real impact on the business.

The Role:

You will ensure all quality and technical aspects of the business are compliant with food safety legislation.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Technical Services manager and liaise with hygiene and production management to ensure the organisation is compliant with food safety
  • Assist in the organisation and enforcement of all quality, hygiene and food safety systems
  • Oversee the auditing and filing of documentation as well as carry out various internal audits when required
  • Lead on daily quality meetings ensuring that issues are raised promptly
  • Carry out internal training of quality, food safety and legal compliance systems
  • Work alongside New Product Development (NPD) teams when plant trials are taking place to help gain knowledge of new products before launch
  • Liaise with other internal staff members such as Production Supervisors to continuously improve best practice with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Assist the Head of Technical and the Technical Services Manager with the factories quality systems to ensure compliance with requirements in relation to HACCP, Food safety and GMP to ensure plant, equipment and employees meet statutory hygiene requirements
  • Conduct recipe control audits on high complaining lines to ensure consistency is maintained and to specification
  • Help to reduce internal non-conformances and report back to the Technical Services manager

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience in a supervisory role within food manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety and auditing
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suites including Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
  • Understanding of production processes and machinery
  • Experience of training and coaching staff to gain understanding of food safety compliance
