Supply Chain Administrator

Up to £33,000

Permanent

Monday to Thursday 8.00am- 16.45pm, Friday 8.00am - 14.00pm

My client who are a long established leading global manufacturer based in Port Talbot are looking for an experienced Supply Chain Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly obtain, negotiate and sustain the best freight rates for imports.
  • Imports upon arrival in the UK - providing the correct import clearance authorisation instructions to clear the goods through customs in a timely manner.
  • Keeping records on file of all import documentation for HM Revenue & Customs purposes.
  • Control goods that arrive under IPR.
  • All Export and Import documentation must be kept as a regulation by HM Revenue & Customs for a period of 7 years, therefore the role involves competent filling duties.
  • Identify, source, sustain and review major global freight forwarding companies to make stable export sales and arrange freight costing to present prices to clients.
  • Managing all shipping related issues and be the main point of contact internally and externally.
  • Arrange pallet/ oversized parcels for all UK deliveries and collections outside of the normal
  • Co-ordinate off-site service calibrations - quoting / loading orders / booking diary slots for the calibration engineers / submission of calibration certificates.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 7-10 years' prior experience in logistics role for engineered/technical products and services company.
  • Relevant technical skills in logistics, export-import requirements and L/Cs.
  • Experience in sourcing, negotiating and implementing the export, import and logistics requirements to any country throughout the world.
  • Process driven approach to work - establish processes / procedures and continually improve them to make work simple and without errors.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable).
