The Role:
The Technical Author will focus on supporting the completion and deployment of a new state of the art scientific system on a 6-9-month basis.
You will be involved in documenting technical requirements and processes required by the in-house team and customers through collaboration with internal engineering and development teams and also with the customers own engineering and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather detail requirements from both internal and external engineering teams to understand the technology and requirements fully
- Create user documentation and in-house manufacturing and test documentation which includes; manuals, schematics, layouts, diagrams, training materials, presentations, manufacturing and test instructions
- Manage workload effect and efficiently to meet key project objectives and milestones
- Engage with various engineering department departments both internally and externally and feedback on project status
Requirements:
- A Scientific/Engineering Degree or equivalent, preferably Electronic Engineering
- Experience of working with complex hardware systems or scientific instrumentation
- Excellent technical documentation writing skills with exceptional attention to detail is required
- Previous experience of the creation of schematics, diagrams and circuit diagrams for documentation
- CAD and electronic schematics software experience advantageous
- Must be detailed and systematic as well as a natural problem solver
- Excellent project management skills
