Job description

Vibe Recruit are looking for a Contract Electrician for our client based in Llanelli.

Monday-Friday, with weekend availability

3 Shift Pattern

Job Purpose: To maintain, improve and repair machines, tools and site services as required.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Able to provide engineering support in order to maintain, improve and repair factory machines, tools and site services as required.
  • Strong technical ability and expertise covering a wide range of facilities with above average problem solving skills, working on own initiative and closely with all site personnel.
  • Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and effect repairs, modifications or produce new within given tolerances.
  • Determine methodical and effective ways of conducting engineering tasks allocated.
  • Coordinate and communicate with supervision any engineering resource support required.
  • Contribute to manufacturing effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Work in a safe manner for own and others safety. Comply with Company procedures and Health and Safety Statutory Regulations.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated proven qualified experience in the maintenance and repair of factory machinery.
  • Proven experience in fault finding on PLC Control Systems.
  • A good understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain uptime of machinery.
  • Communicate proficiently
  • Team Working

Qualifications:

  • A qualified maintenance electrician with factory experience
  • The following are desirable but not essential:
  • PLC systems – programming (Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi)
  • Experience in Motion Control systems
  • Robotics positional programming & fault finding (Motoman)
  • An NVQ Level 3 Engineering or equivalent
  • A HNC in Engineering or equivalent
  • Computer literate
  • Can work with minimal direct supervision

Working Hours:

37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday. The role is offered on a 3-shift basis: Afternoons 2pm – 10pm – Mornings 6am – 2pm Nights 10pm – 6am.

Additional hours are expected to be worked in line with business needs and requirements, which will include weekend overtime which is paid at premium rate.
