Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? As a Children’s Support Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting individuals aged 0-18 who may be facing challenges such as emotional, behavioral, or social difficulties. By working closely with families, caregivers, and professionals, you’ll provide tailored support to help each child thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Support: Provide emotional and practical assistance to children, fostering confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Care Planning: Help design and implement personalized care plans that address each child’s specific needs.
  • Advocacy: Act as a voice for children, ensuring their rights are respected and their opinions are valued.
  • Collaboration: Partner with families, schools, social workers, and other professionals to deliver seamless and effective care.
  • Activities and Engagement: Plan and take part in activities that encourage social interaction, learning, and enjoyment in a secure environment.
  • Crisis Intervention: Offer immediate support during challenging situations, helping to restore stability and develop coping mechanisms.
  • Record Keeping: Keep detailed and accurate records of interactions, care plans, and progress to support effective care delivery.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Prior experience supporting children or young people in care, education, or related fields is highly valued.
  • Qualifications: Formal qualifications in childcare, social care, or similar areas are advantageous, but we welcome individuals with relevant experience and a strong passion for supporting children.
  • Empathy and Compassion: A deep commitment to improving children’s lives and understanding the difficulties they may encounter.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to varying schedules, including evenings and weekends, based on children’s needs.
  • Driver’s License: A valid license is essential, as the role may involve travel within Swansea.

Join us in making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people.
