We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join an international manufacturer in Cardiff. As Buyer you will:

- Be accountable for the supply of materials into the Cardiff facility in line with the production plan, balancing inventory levels to ensure smooth manufacture of products.

- Liaise with Quality, Production, R&D, and suppliers to maintain agreed quality.

- Develop close working relationships with other key functions (Production, R&D, Planning etc.) to commercially lead negotiations for key projects with strategic suppliers.

- Issue and manage purchase orders in line with customer requirements.

- Manage supplier relationships to drive annual cost reduction activities while maintaining quality and security of supply.

- Monitor the schedules for deliveries including sea and air shipment and report any issues accordingly.

- Monitor and evaluate supply base performance through methods such as vendor rating, price monitoring, quality performance, and on time delivery performance.

- Record, measure, and improve performance of suppliers
