Are you a confident negotiator looking for a new challenge?

My client is looking to appoint a Buyer to their Purchasing department. Reporting directly to the Head of Purchasing, you will play a key role in supporting the UK purchasing team whilst working closely with operations, technical, finance and HR.

This role is permanent and full-time with a salary of £42,000-£45,000. Hours of work 08:30 16:30.

Your role will involve:

• Identify pipeline savings of 2% per quarter
• Manage purchasing spend
• Actively seek new sources of supply to meet existing and future purchases
• Negotiate binding contract and review supplier terms and conditions
• Process purchase orders and assist with stores to expedite when required
• Carry out commercial audits of potential vendors
• Identify areas of non-value-added activity and suggest changes
• Deputise for the departmental manager as required

To be successful in this role:

• Demonstrate experience of working in an aerospace/engineering/manufacturing environment in a similar role
• Have understanding of technical design and drawings
• Able to generate formal tender documents and contracts
• Experience with global/European sourcing
• Proven experience with confident and successful negotiation
• Have a professional outlook
• Act with integrity at all times
• Interpret, explain and offer solutions to complex commercial issues
• Self-managing with the ability to work on own initiative

Education/Qualifications:

• Degree Ideally in a related subject
• CIPS
