Compliance Manager

A global leader, providing ongoing R&D and innovative in the manufacture of specialist products, now has an executive position available for a Compliance Manager, at their site in South Oxfordshire.

Role Overview

  • The Compliance Manager will ensure that all Shared Services activities meet the company's policies, standards and with particular emphasis on Sarbanes Oxley controls.
  • Previous audit experience is essential for this role.
  • A recent Shared Services transitions from Europe to the UK now necessitate the urgency to standardise controls, for Pan-European coverage
  • Identify and assess potential risks and develop remediation plans to manage any exposure.
  • Implement an independent and a robust control and compliance function to build a reliable defence, to protect and safeguard compliance thresholds.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Review SOX control evidence for completeness and compliance.
  • Organise the collection and custody of control evidence for SOX Audits
  • Manage SOX audits and conduct annual reviews to ensure compliance with SOX Controls.
  • Organise and manage the audit process with Divisional Internal and External audit with external auditors
  • Review and standardise controls to simply and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the controls in shared services
  • Proactively detect ethical violations, compliance issues and implement remediation plans in accordance with the management team
  • Ensure that changes to governance requirements are communicated to all those affected within the business

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Recognised qualification in Quality systems, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Previous big four audit experience or similar
  • Previous experience in a Governance function or Compliance role
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation
  • Highly organised
  • Deadline focus
  • Continuous improvement mind set

Desirable

  • Part or Fully Qualified ACCA / ACMA /CIMA or equivalent
  • Degree level qualification in Finance or Business Administration
  • Previous experience in a shared services environment
  • Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Experience with ISO 9000
