Compliance Manager
A global leader, providing ongoing R&D and innovative in the manufacture of specialist products, now has an executive position available for a Compliance Manager, at their site in South Oxfordshire.
Role Overview
- The Compliance Manager will ensure that all Shared Services activities meet the company's policies, standards and with particular emphasis on Sarbanes Oxley controls.
- Previous audit experience is essential for this role.
- A recent Shared Services transitions from Europe to the UK now necessitate the urgency to standardise controls, for Pan-European coverage
- Identify and assess potential risks and develop remediation plans to manage any exposure.
- Implement an independent and a robust control and compliance function to build a reliable defence, to protect and safeguard compliance thresholds.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Review SOX control evidence for completeness and compliance.
- Organise the collection and custody of control evidence for SOX Audits
- Manage SOX audits and conduct annual reviews to ensure compliance with SOX Controls.
- Organise and manage the audit process with Divisional Internal and External audit with external auditors
- Review and standardise controls to simply and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the controls in shared services
- Proactively detect ethical violations, compliance issues and implement remediation plans in accordance with the management team
- Ensure that changes to governance requirements are communicated to all those affected within the business
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Recognised qualification in Quality systems, Finance or Business Administration.
- Previous big four audit experience or similar
- Previous experience in a Governance function or Compliance role
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP)
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation
- Highly organised
- Deadline focus
- Continuous improvement mind set
Desirable
- Part or Fully Qualified ACCA / ACMA /CIMA or equivalent
- Degree level qualification in Finance or Business Administration
- Previous experience in a shared services environment
- Exposure to Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
- Experience with ISO 9000
