Export Operative

Our client based in Abingdon who provide high quality shipping services are looking for an Export Operative to join their team on a temp to perm basis.

Job Brief:

• Working closely and under the guidance of the Export Site Manager your role is to help assist with preparing goods for shipment using protective materials. This role is based outside in all weather and physically demanding; therefore, the successful candidate must be physically fit.

Key responsibilities include:

• Thoroughly prepare all goods for shipment via application of damage protection and in some cases removal of larger items such as air conditioning units and A-frames.
• Conducting thorough visual inspections of all incoming goods, including the removal of unrequired items.
• Complete all inspection paperwork. This requires full documentation of any interior or exterior defects and clear and precise photography showing the condition of the incoming goods.
• You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and secure loading of all goods into shipment containers in preparation for export.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Good technical experience with hand and power tools and the ability to operate these tools safely and appropriately for the task in hand.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment where precision, safety and initiative are part of everyday work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

Hours of work:

• 08:00-16:00, Monday to Friday
