General Maintenance operative

Vibe Recruit is looking for a reliable and skilled Maintenance Operative to join our client team in Caerphilly. This role is a temporary position through Vibe Recruit, with the potential to become a full-time opportunity for the right candidate. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and assessing accommodation units to ensure they meet company standards prior to delivery and after hire.

Salary: £14 per h
Hours: 34 per week, Monday - Thursday: 08:30 - 16:30, Friday: 08:30 - 15:30

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accommodation units to meet company standards before delivery.
• Inspect returned units, reporting any damage or maintenance issues.
• Conduct routine electrical, plumbing, and water checks to ensure units are safe and fully operational.
• Apply paint and perform minor carpentry repairs as required.
• Assemble and organise furniture and fittings according to unit specifications.
• Conduct PAT testing on electrical appliances and maintain records.
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including unit cleaning and depot areas.
• Monitor stock levels of materials and furniture, reporting shortages.
• Follow company Health & Safety policies at all times and use PPE correctly.
• Work independently while also supporting the team to meet delivery schedules.

Requirements

• Previous experience in maintenance, construction, or similar practical role preferred.
• Basic electrical, carpentry, or painting skills desirable.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
