Location: Aberdare

Salary: £35,000.00 - £40,000.00 per annum plus benefits

Permanent full time

Vibe are recruiting a key position for our client who are a leading distributor of building supplies and materials. Working closely with and reporting into the Business owner your role as General Manager will be to ensure the smooth operation of the Branch. You will do this whilst also improving the profitable sales and margins, as well as developing a highly customer focused, results driven team. To be considered for this role you will have proven trade sector experience working within the building materials / construction supplies or DIY sectors.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Operational management of the branch and team
  • Implementing policies and procedures in order to enhance productivity
  • Maintaining a high level of Health & Safety of plant equipment and due process
  • Scheduling goods in and out
  • Successful and timely order processing
  • Review of Key Account customers spend and implementation of growth plan for overall business annual growth target.
  • Day to Day operations of Customer ordering and yard management
  • Responsible for identifying, attracting, interviewing, and appointing suitable candidates for the organisation
  • Developing key accounts through up selling and cross selling
  • Implementing employee incentives improving sales and customer service
  • Ensuring customer deliveries and satisfaction

Skills and experience required

  • Previous experience in the building materials sector
  • Excellent customer service
  • Effective Communicator
  • Proficient at using all Microsoft office packages
  • Ability to drive performance and manage effective teams
