Role: Java Developer - Full Remote Working

Field: Marine Technology/Radar Technology/Surveillance/Applications Development /Software Development/Java Spring Boot/Microservices

Reporting to: Lead Developer

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

A leading radar and navigation specialist are looking to recruit an experienced Java Developer on a fully remote opportunity.

The Role:

You would be part of medium sized team where you will be liaising with the Architecture Team, Test Team, Project Managers and Product Managers to help to define and implement world class operations and engineering practices to deliver stable, scalable, and secure platforms.

Responsibilities:

• You will be continuously tasked with improving all aspects of the software delivery process, removing roadblocks and ensuring the development team have the information
• Deliver high quality software products that meet the customers' needs and quality expectations
• Involved in the high-level design output from technical elaborations and user stories as presented by the Senior Developer
• Participate and contribute to low level design workshops
• Assist the Senior Developer to create the low-level design and other associated documents
• Provide estimations for broken down development and test tasks
• Help to scope out testing requirements and plan for current sprint
• Develop user stories as described by product management or the architecture team ensuring adherence to agreed acceptance criteria and technical requirements
• Ensure that the sprint remains on target where your own tasks are complete or on track including assisting testing
• Attend and contribute to feature show-and-tell sessions
• Attend the daily Scrum team stand-up and report progress on your current work raising any blocking issues
• Collaborate with team members and assist with tasks where necessary to manage the workload effectively within the teams goals

Essential:

• Proven development experience with extensive time within an Agile environment
• Implementing End-to-end solution from design/architecture
• Test Driven Development (TDD), Unit Testing/testing design, Microservices design and implementation (JAVA Spring Boot)
• Enterprise database design and implementation
• API Design, and implementation
• Have good Experience in Java, Message Queuing systems (Rabbit MQ/ActiveMQ), JavaScript, HTML, CSS, GIT, SQL, Cassandra, docker, Linux, Jira

Desirable:

• Understanding of large distributed, data sharing systems deployed over large distances
• Experience with Cyber-Security strategies and implementation
• Experience in software verification and validation including functional, regression, scenario, load, usability, stress, performance and automated testing
