Role Overview:
The Supply Chain division is looking for a new Logistics Officer to join the team to manage material control. The successful candidate will be responsible for parts ordering, expediting parts to production, and change control along with many other duties. You will be given the opportunity to focus on achieving goals, instigating change, demonstrating drive and ambition, and creating and developing business relationships and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage any procurement activities Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Placing and Rescheduling Parts in/out and cancellations of orders
- Vendor Management: Interact with the suppliers on a day-to-day basis
- Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions to be able to order materials, goods and supplies
- Review inventories and order as required
- Review deliveries against the orders. On-time, in full reporting
- Track the status of any orders
- Deal with non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods queries
- Ensure that any queries are reconciled, and invoices are sent to accounts for payment
- Produce and maintain reports
- Storing of all Purchase Order's and acknowledgements, working to standards, fast-tracking urgent parts through the internal process to the place of requirement and investigations of late items
Person Specification:
Essential criteria
- Computer literacy, e.g. Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to complete detailed work-related tasks under minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and strong sense of responsibility
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external contacts
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail whilst remaining calm under pressure
- Customer-focused
Desirable criteria
- Experience in a similar role is not a necessity but highly recommended
- Understanding of Oracle (training to be given)
