Are you an experienced Logistics Planner on the lookout for a new challenge with more variety? Do you want to work for an international company on the outskirts of Newport that boasts a first class reputation?

We are recruiting for a Logistics Planner to join a genuine employer of choice in Newport. Employing thousands of people worldwide, the company in question has a major manufacturing facility in South Wales and is looking to add strength to an already well organised Supply Chain function.

You will sit in a team of skilled Logistics Planners and will take ownership of all aspects of the shipping process worldwide, working closely with a global customer service team.

Your role will include:

- Ensuring new orders are processed correctly and within timescales

- Liaising with different carriers and using negotiation techniques to ensure that the best prices and quickest delivery dates are achieved

- Using your knowledge of shipping documents and customs clearance to full advantage ( including with the new Brexit rules )

- Communicating effectively with Production and the Warehouse to ensure goods are ready in a timely manner

- Placing an emphasis on quality and continuous improvement in the department

- Being adaptable to change and having the ability to solve problems
