The role

You will be able to demonstrate experience working within the tooling industry and the ability to drive continuous improvement and robust manufacturing methods. Key responsibilities
Manage and direct Team Leaders in each of the manufacturing cells to achieve the business objectives
Attain the highest levels of quality performance by good management and discipline procedures applying systems engineering to optimise resources
Achieve and maintain adherence to schedule by managing resources effectively
Monitor / review worker performance and direct team sustainability in terms of the skills matrix, HR profiles and the demands on the business and identify training needs.
Particular attention to Succession Planning / Training / Flexibility
Ensure Apprentices and engaged and achieve their maximum potential.
Liaise with customers directly as required.
Plan and draw up a production schedule.
Decide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
Select equipment and take responsibility for its maintenance.
Set the quality standards.
Ensure that the production will be cost effective by monitoring methods and productivity
Monitor the production process and adjust schedules as needed
Monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programs
Organise the preventative maintenance and repair of equipment. Forward planning on availability of required resource is critical to adherence to schedule.
Liaise with different departments, teams and companies e.g. suppliers, customers, other internal departments.
Responsible for maintaining the H&S Compliance Register and reporting Direct to the MD.
Ensure that health & safety guidelines are always followed
Supervise and motivate team leaders in each of the manufacturing cells
Manufacturing Lean principles to optimise flow/assets.
Introduce Continuous improvement regime and methods to optimise best practice and establish new ways of working.
Knowledge and experience required
Good Problem-Solving Skills.
