The Role

• From conceptualisation to implementation, the Mechanical Design Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful realisation of innovative products.
• Undertake design from initial concept through to design verification utilising FEA through to producing working drawings for manufacture
• Develop mechanical design of new products
• Design and development of jigs and fixtures using Solid Works
• Communicate design needs and findings to team members, client or manufacturing partner to convey the design comprehensively
• Communicate with contractors and supply chain to ensure that designs are delivered to the specified quality standards, within project budget and achieved the required timescales
• Translate engineering ideas into mechanical solutions and implement best practice solutions
• Generate drawings suitable for manufacturing (e.g. BS standards)

The Person

• A minimum of 2 year's experience in Mechanical Design
• Experience in mechanical design with 3D CAD SolidWorks software design tool, with a strong understanding of mechanical design principles and best practices
• Solid grasp of materials science and knowledge of various manufacturing processes, such as injection moulding, CNC machining, and 3D printing
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical challenges
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools is a plus
