Job Title - Mechanical Estimator

Salary & Benefits - £50,000 - £55,000 per annum

Contract Hours - 08:00 - 17:00 (42.5 hours) Mon-Fri

Holiday allowance - 25 days + 8 bank holidays (total 33 days)

Permanent/Temporary/Fixed Term - Permanent/Full time

Work Location - Swansea

The position involves collaborating with the broader team to conduct estimates for projects valued up to £5,000,000.00, encompassing both traditional and Design & Build initiatives. Responsibilities will encompass tasks related to mechanical and public health systems.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Receive, log and create Estimates/Tenders from new enquiries
• Review and analysis of all relevant documentation
• Obtain supplier and subcontract quotations for all mechanical disciplines.
• Reviewing drawings specifications to determine cost estimates based on materials, labour costs, preliminary and overhead expenses, and profit margins
• Liaising with clients and other members of the team to answer questions about materials or design changes
• Identifying potential problems with materials or design that could affect costs or construction timeframes
• Forecasting labour costs by calculating the number of workers needed to complete the job based on their hourly rate and working hours per week
• Creating detailed estimates using computer software programs designed specifically for estimating construction costs

• A sound technical knowledge of all Mechanical systems i.e. LTHW, DWS, Gas, AGD, Ventilation, BMS, Ait Conditioning etc.

Qualifications & Experience

A background in mechanical engineering and a minimum of 2 years experienced in an estimating capacity.
