We are currently recruiting for a New Product Development Engineer to join a leading manufacturer with an excellent reputation based in Cardiff.
Our client designs and manufacturers furniture solutions for contemporary workplace and hospitality environments.
New Product Development Engineer Benefits:

New Product Development Engineer Duties & Responsibilities:
- Creation and maintenance of 3D CAD, including production of 2D drawings.
- Undertake model-making and prototyping where required.
- Update and maintain the Bill of Materials.
- Undertake new materials / process research.
- Liaise with external suppliers on part details and required specifications.
- Take part in progress meetings with all areas of the business.
- Design any packaging for assembled products and components for domestic or export markets.
- Support the creation of work instructions and assembly line layouts where required.
- Undertake I.T. structuring of product and all relevant upcharges.
- Provide supporting CAD formats for marketing purposes.
- Co-ordinate the external testing of products.
- Provide technical support and training of internal customers on new products.
- Raise and chase progress of engineering change requests where necessary.
- Implement corrective actions and product improvements.
- Participation in DR, DFMEA & PFMEA meetings.
- Support the NPD portal, project costs, risk register & timescale plans.
- Work within ISO9001 quality management and company systems.
New Product Development Engineer Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related degree.
- Experienced in a mechanical biased new product development discipline
- New Product development experience in taking a project from concept/detail to fruition.
- Basic project management skills.
- 3D Cad experience - ideally SolidWorks inc. drawing creation & tolerance.
