Job description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Project Engineer to join our client in Newport – the company is a global specialty materials company that produces a broad range of products found in items people use every day. With the purpose of enhancing the quality of life in a material way, working with customers to deliver innovative products and solutions while maintaining a commitment to safety and sustainability.
Project Engineer Benefits:

Project Engineer Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage small capital projects from conception and ensure the approval, design, procurement, construction and commissioning of capital projects, ensuring that designs are safe, efficient, maintainable and controllable.
- Accountable for ensuring that assigned projects comply with all relevant internal & external standards/requirements.
- Provide the Project Team Manager (or designee) with expenditure forecasts for assigned projects.
- Undertake the chemical/process engineering design for assigned projects.
- Actively undertake safety participation activities and assigned site safety actions.
- Provide occasional incident/accident investigation support.
- Ensuring process safety plant information is kept up to date.
Project Engineer Qualifications and Skills:
- The ideal candidate will be a degree qualified engineer, preferably with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Project Management skills.
- Working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Chemical/process engineering design.
- High degree of initiative and ability to plan, prioritise, and work with minimal supervision.
- Experience within heavy industry.
