Are you a Project Manager looking for an exciting, new challenge with an established commercial contractor that works across fit out, retail, hospitality, and civils sector with numerous national contracts?

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join a leading commercial contractor based in Newport. The is a fantastic opportunity to join the team that can offer excellent job satisfaction and opportunities for training and progression.

Based in South Wales, assisting in management and organising key shop fitting commercial contracts, ensuring programme of works and ordering is completed, reporting to Directors regarding preconstruction plans, contract executions and successful handover on various projects.

This role will be to work with one of our UK retail clients, depending on the contract this could mean travel around the UK and the occasional night away for jobs that are further afield. You will be dealing directly with our client teams and managing the execution of the shop fit project onsite. Management of site staff is an essential skill, as is written communication, organisation and a good working understanding of Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel. Particularly Excel to monitor, manage and create schedules.

Project Manager Duties:

  • Coordinate internal resources as well as well as specialist sub-contractors for successful project execution.
  • Coordination of program and key deliverables.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Logistical management of staff and resources.
  • Ordering of materials.
  • Report and escalate to project management as needed.
  • Manage the relationship with clients and suppliers.
  • Prepare health and safety compliance documentation and site information.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Effectively communicate with all project stakeholders
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

Project Manager Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Administration skills.
  • Costing expereince.
  • Construction / fit out previous experience.
  • Property project coordination.
  • Princes 2 Project management.
