I am working with a very well known manufacturer based in Gloucestershire who is looking for a Proposals Engineer to join them in a very exciting role.

The Proposals Engineer is the main link between the Engineering Departments and the Sales Departments. You will report in to the Business Development Manager and ensure technical compliance with customer specifications and the preparation of data packs as per the customer requirements.

Your role will involve:

* Preparation and management of enquiries / quotations using Manufacturing (Visual) / MS Office software & e-systems. (Visual/Word/Excel)

* Review and interpretation of customer enquiries

* Co-ordinate and acquire detailed information from internal and external departments to enable accurate and timely proposal submission.

* Organisation and co-ordination of RFQ related meetings as required

* Prepare technical content for inclusion in quotations

* Create & maintain price lists where appropriate

* Maintain Quotation Register and File Structure

* Assist when required in the arrangement of conference calls and customer meetings

* Raise purchase orders in line with quotations (Spares & CapEx)

* Participate in contract review and hand over meetings

* Provide support to external sales and customers as required

* Link engineer between Sales and Engineering. Keep updated on current changes and new product development

* Support value engineering

* Support Sales with customer external visits (if available)

* Daily administration and customer support (Certifications, customer calls and third party inspections)

* Liaise with Customers to provide updates with deliveries as well as liaising with internal teams

The ideal candidate will have:

* Sound mechanical engineering knowledge

* Experience within manufacturing/supply chain

* Is analytical, numerate & computer literate

* Excellent customer service skills

* Industry knowledge of pneumatics is beneficial

* Ability to work in a high pressure role
