Salary: £40,000.00 - £45,000.00 per annum plus benefits

Due to recent growth my client requires an experienced Shift Manager who will demonstrate role model leadership by facilitating, coaching, and mentoring your team. You will be the driving force for the shift by creating an environment of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan and organise the work within the area of responsibility to achieve required objectives at the expected quality standards.
Monitor all manufacturing processes and take appropriate steps to be successful in achieving the required outcome.
Drive continuous improvement.
Champion lean manufacturing programmes in conjunction with PPI team.
Maintain effective communications at all levels via formal/informal meetings, briefings and visual aids.
Coordinating activities to engage in problem solving improving performance
Effectively manage and develop reporting team members
Resource planning and execution
Contribute to the identification of employees' training and development needs.
Efficient utilisation of labour and communication with all necessary support functions to be successful in achievement of the manufacturing plan.
Adherence to the required technical and quality specifications in line with the Company's ISO 9000 quality management programmes.
To monitor, measure and reduce product loss and wastage. To improve output efficiencies by the investigation of quality failures, implementation of corrective actions and to lead the drive for continuous improvement
Manage in accordance with Company's Policies on Health and Safety.
Through departmental safety inspections, review and maintain standard operating and safe working procedures in accordance with Company Health and Safety standards and conduct any necessary risk assessments.
Conduct accident investigations and recommend and implement the appropriate corrective or preventative actions in a timely manner.
To ensure compliance with all Company rules and regulations, and maintain a high standard of housekeeping.
Maintain as required, Time and Attendance to include clocking exceptions, holiday allocation and overtime authorisation.
Manage resources in conjunction with Human Resource department.
Safe, qualitative output meets the need of the production plan at optimal costs
Ensure that the shift operates in a cost-effective manner, and within agreed Budget/Plans.
To ensure effective implementation, of capital projects specifically related to the operating unit in liaison with other members of the management team.
Carry out any reasonable requests that are required to achieve the overall purpose of the job. To comply with the terms and conditions of employment operating throughout the Company.

Skills, Qualifications and experience required
Degree level education or equivalent, alternatively you will be qualified by experience (extensive shift management experience)
COSHH regulations and Health & Safety trained to IOSH certification standard.
Experience of managing teams in a fast paced and complex environment
ILM level 5 management certificate or equivalent
Dynamic Decision Maker, effective planner and communicator.
PC literate within a Microsoft windows environment.
Man Management and Conflict Management Skills
Resource & Capacity Planning.
