Job Description

Vibe Recruit have an exciting opportunity for a Site Engineer / CRE to join their busy Cardiff based client initially on a 12-month contract with a view to permanent employment at the successful completion of the project.

The Site Engineer will be responsible to the Contracts Manager for the site and is required to lead the construction teams' interface with Network Rail as a CRE.

Key aspects of the Role (Essential)

* Competent approach and knowledge of most forms of Construction / Engineering practices.

* Positive and effective communication skills.

* Minimum 3 years' experience at a Site Engineer level with similar companies.

* Formal qualification as an Engineer, including Temporary Works Coordinator and SMSTS.

* A positive and enthusiastic approach to teamwork is an essential part of this position in conjunction with our Site Teams.

Rail Interface / CRE responsibility specific to this site (Highly desirable)

* Support Lead CEM and Rail Interface manager with documentation.

* Submit WPP and Form 2/3 and liaise directly with Lead CEM.

* Construction lead (CRE) remains signatory of WPP and TW CRE on Part 3.

* Confirmation of Form 2/3 requirements and other general submission requirements.

* Attend meetings between NR/TW Designers to resolve contentious design issues.

* Set up and manage principal Contractors Rail Interface TW Tracker.

* Have weekly meetings with site teams on temporary works programme and Trackers.

* Manage NR temporary works in line with NR standards.

* Review WPP'S involving Temporary Works.

* Review Quality assurance paperwork including site audits where required.

* Review F002/F003 designs Reviewing prelim packs and C01 packs and provide CRE. comments and direction to Site/TW Team.

* Attend meeting with CEM and undergo CEM Mentorship (if identified as required).

* Inform CEM of issues and proposed solutions

Other Site Duties

* Overseeing building work both Civil and Structural / Undertaking surveys.

* Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly.

* Supervising contracted staff.

* Ensuring that Health and Safety policies/legislations are adhered to.

* Providing technical advice and solving problems on site.

* Ensuring programmed deadlines are met.

The role will be based in Cardiff however may involve some working away from home with related costs for accommodation being met by the company and may include more than one site. A structured training programme will be developed with the successful candidate if required.

A generous Salary / package will be agreed with the successful candidate (Dependent on experience).
