Swansea - Hybrid

A rare opportunity to join a very well known and well established company based in Swansea!

My client based in Swansea are seeking a Stock Controller to join their small close knit and friendly team. As a stock controller you will provide stock control and stock maintenance support to Stock Control team & Team Leader through utilising the warehouse systems, both proactively and reactively, to achieve agreed targets.

Monday to Friday 9am-5pm with one week working from home in every 3 weeks.

You must have good working knowledge of processes and warehousing operations. Full training will be given, and as it is such a niche industry we will consider those with excellent data entry/data management skills.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • To be responsible for the stock control and/or maintenance of all company and third party stock through utilising the warehouse systems, striving to ensure that service levels are met

  • Liaise effectively and efficiently with clients, internal and external to ensure smooth working relationships.

  • Deal with external suppliers such as systems, hauliers, consumables and infrastructure.

  • Liaise with other departments, commercial teams, and distribution centre operational teams.

  • To improve the operational effectiveness of the section wherever possible, including initiation of, and participation in, continuous improvement initiatives.

  • To participate in daily team briefing sessions

  • To carry out administrative tasks, including phone queries.

In order to be successful you must have:

  • Proven working knowledge of warehouse processes and procedures

  • Good working knowledge of PC/Database Systems -VISTA/MITRALS and Microsoft office packages including , word, excel and outlook

  • Demonstrable customer service experience
  • Demonstrable IT literacy
  • Proven track record of working in logistics desirable

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi task
  • Be able to build and maintain relationships at all levels
