Job Description

We are looking for a Line Leader to join a Manufacturing client in the Aberdare area.


In this role you will be responsible for the safety of the assigned production areas and personnel, under limited supervision with the ability to follow plans and meet targets. You will also be responsible for the training of the operators and to oversee the quality of work being completed. Liaise with all cross functional shifts and departments to ensure planning and maintenance tasks are all completed.

This role will include;


Responsibility for Health and Safety, Quality performance and the production KPIs. (Including Risk Assessments, near miss reporting,5s inspections and BBS/BBQ Observations)
Supporting the Maintenance & Engineering area in implementing TPM as well as actively participating in the scheduled PM of the lines. Accurately reporting breakdowns and tracking the actions.
Managing the team to ensure performance of shift is maximized through coaching and guidance.
The ability to demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting ability. Knowing how to diagnose malfunctions (process/quality/technical) and knowing how to remedy them as part the process.
Controlling and monitoring finished products (customer requirements, dimensional and visual controls, material appearance, knowledge of lab tests and their impacts)
Controlling and monitoring machinery and tools (preventive maintenance, parameters check, safety check), workstation environment
Organising the time of staff within the area and being pro-active. You will need to be versatile and willing to go above and beyond to ensure success of manufacturing.
For this role you must be able to work all shifts as well as some weekends overtime requirements as well as occasional travel.


Qualifications/skills for this role;


GCSE Level or higher (Maths and English A-C Required)
A technical background would be advantageous
5s and Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred
Team leading skills 4-6 years of experience in a production/manufacturing role
KPI Understanding/Safety orientated background.


The successful candidate will have knowledge of production procedures along with a good level of computer literacy. You must be able to priotrise tasks and effectively manage a team of people. Good leadership is required for this role along with the ability to communicate instructions and ideas whilst improving processes to maximise results.


This role is full-time permanent, operative on a rotating shift pattern.


Salary: £24,000 + up to £4000 shift allowance
