Llanelli

My client in Llanelli is recruiting for a Setter Operator to join their team.

You will be responsible for efficient management and coordination of all tool changeover's within the plastics department, under the supervision of the manufacturing coordinator.

Your role will include, but is not limited to:

  • Setting, adjusting, resetting and running a variety of machines.
  • Checking the safety of machines and removing and replacing tools prior to production
  • Carrying out adjustments to machine settings
  • Repairing and adjusting ancillary equipment,
  • Stripping tools whilst in position in machines, replacing broken parts and carrying out some remedial repair work
  • Running off sample components and visually inspect until a sample suitable for subsequent submission for full quality checks is produced and to ensure that they meet quality standards
  • To carry out basic mechanical repairs
  • To carry out basic mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Completion of necessary paperwork as required
  • Must be prepared to undertake Risk Assessment training & be an active member in carrying out Risk Assessments to ensure risks / dangers are identified and resolved quickly

 

Applicants will have knowledge of the plastics industry, experience with press, ancillary and assembly machinery as well as:

  • Knowledge of quality standards
  • To be competent in the use of basic tools and measuring equipment
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Use initiative to sole problems
  • Have manual dexterity to manoeuvre tools and machinery
  • Must be able to confidently comply with all health, safety and environmental systems
  • The ability to lift equipment in accordance with the health and safety guidelines


Hours of work are 39 hours per week, Monday Friday on a shift basis. Shift patterns may vary. You must be willing to work overtime when required to support the business needs.
