Job Description

Night Shift Hygiene Manager
Permanent, Monday Friday (no weekend work).
£30,000 - £34,000 per annum plus bonus and additional benefits.
Bridgwater, Somerset.

The role


Vibe Recruit are proud to be representing an Award-Winning Food Manufacture based in Somerset who continue to develop, research, and innovate the best products to customers worldwide. This client leads on quality, efficiency, and sustainability. Due to the natural development of internal talent they require an experienced and qualified Night Hygiene Manager who will maintain effective hygiene controls throughout the site to the required standards. This position is a hands-on Management role.

Duties and responsibilities


Demonstrate leadership and build effective teams
Effectively manage and complete all aspects relating to cleaning and hygiene
Maintain effective communications between the Technical Manager and night cleaning operatives
Manage staff effectively and safely.
Ensure that all plant and equipment is cleaned in accordance with planned schedules
Ensure that all staff are fully trained in chemical use and in how to clean the areas that they are tasked to clean.
Ensure manning levels are sufficient to meet the needs of the business within commercial restraints
Arrange holidays and holiday cover as well as absence management and recruitment
Visually inspect all areas of the site post clean down to ensure cleanliness.
Ensure cleaning is carried out in accordance with operating procedures
Ensure effective management and control of resources e.g. Chemicals, (including titration checks, ordering and usage), equipment and water usage
Ensure that all plant and equipment is isolated and to report any faults in a timely manner
Ensure that performance targets are achieved and that training needs are communicated to HR and training delivered addresses required performance improvements
Responsibility to maintain own PDP
Ensure all documentation is always maintained to audit standards such as BRC / TFS
Manage the provision of hygiene chemicals and dosing equipment on site - to include regular reviews with chemical supplier, chemical titration checks.
Lead or participate in projects as requested to drive continuous improvement

Knowledge, skills and qualifications required

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a background in a busy food production environment. The candidate will enjoy challenging, problem solving roles and be ideally suited to a fast-paced environment. In addition, you should have good interpersonal skills and ability to prioritise and multi-task.
Training in Food safety and hygiene practices is required as well as ideally experience of BRC and other key retailer standards / audits.
