Production Manager

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Production Manager!

Vibe Recruit's client based in Hengoed, are looking to recruit a Production Manager on a full time, permanent contract to manage and lead the designated area of responsibility, including operational responsibility for specific assets, to achieve the overall business targets.

Main responsibilities will include….

• Responsible for the safety of all employees operating within the converting area and implementing safety programs to improve safety performance. Assess and manage all foreseeable risks that are related to the business assets. Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
• To provide leadership and clear direction to ensure delivery of production at the target efficiency rates on all assets at the right cost and quality.
• Be a role model on safety and implement effective strategies to improve safety performance.
• Develop organisational capability through robust development activities and coach team in standards required for delivering the standard and improvements.
• Lead the area and teams by providing clear direction in a challenging and motivational way so as constantly improve business performance.
• Promotes and drives Continuous Improvement activities based on priorities and fosters creativity within the teams.
• Builds an open working environment, listens actively, inspires and motivates team.
• Maintaining the assets within the area.
• Working with the engineering team to carry out the day to day maintenance as well as planned scheduled routine interventions to keep area assets at optimum efficiency at all times.
• Support the planning of the next day's production and a rolling week plan.
• Manage the area staffing levels to meet requirements and approval of probationary staff.
• Manage production and payroll paperwork.
• Ensure holidays in the team are managed to meet the business needs.

IOSH Qualification. (Desirable)

3 years proven experience in a similar role or level below with capability to progress to next level.

Previous experience of managing a large team or supporting the management of a team.

Hours of work - Monday-Friday 6am-2pm.
