Trainee Furnace Operator

Vibe Recruit are working with our client in Port Talbot, recruiting for a Trainee Furnace Operator to join their fast growing team

Main Responsibilities:

• Carefully track the temperature gauges and color, heating units, furnace flames, etc. to melt metal as per requirements.
• Working safely and conduct daily checks in line with safe working procedures.
• Take instructions from Foundry Shift Team Leader to determine work processes.
• Work with dies using wrenches, bolts and tap screws. * Adhere to furnace operating and maintenance procedures.
• Ensure that all work areas are properly cleaned and maintained.
• Conduct material analysis in line with customer specification.
• Operate machinery and prepare furnaces to the required standard for melting.
• Work effectively within a team and communicate with colleagues on opposite shifts to ensure a smooth transition of tasks and responsibilities.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Work towards tight quality, environmental and safety guidelines. Shifts:
Mornings - 6am-2pm
Afternoons - 2pm-10pm
Nights - 10pm-6am

Rates of pay:
Mornings - £10.76
Afternoons - £12.11
Nights - £13.99
