HGV Service Technician - Night Shift

Location: Cardiff

Salary: £44,623 per annum, rising to £45,962 following successful probation

Shift Pattern:

• Week 1: Monday to Thursday

• Week 2: Wednesday to Friday

• Hours: 7:00pm - 6:30am

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Service Technician to join a well-established and highly regarded commercial vehicle service and repair operation in Cardiff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician looking for a permanent night shift position, a competitive salary and the opportunity to develop their technical skills through ongoing manufacturer training.

Previous main dealer experience would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of heavy commercial vehicles.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and technical faults efficiently.

• Complete routine inspections, preventative maintenance and safety checks.

• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within manufacturer guidelines.

• Accurately document all servicing, repairs, diagnostics and safety inspections.

• Support colleagues with technical issues and contribute to an efficient workshop environment.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and workshop procedures.

• Maintain excellent standards of workmanship and customer service.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.

• Minimum of one year's experience following completion of an apprenticeship.

• Previous HGV servicing, diagnostics and repair experience.

• Main dealer experience is highly desirable.

• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence would be advantageous.

• IRTEC accreditation would be beneficial.
